About
Emmanuel Cobbi builds things people can use.
Software developer, designer, and author. Founder of Tribe. CTO, software developer, and writer at Bonteh Magazine. Based in Cameroon.
My experience runs across software development, visual design, marketing, and writing. Different disciplines, one recurring question: how does a good idea become something people can actually use?
Today I am building Tribe as founder and software developer, and working as CTO, software developer, and writer at Bonteh Magazine. I also write fiction and essays about business, technology, wealth, responsibility, and the systems shaping everyday life.
I am Cameroonian, and I build for people whose everyday reality is closer to mine than to the assumptions most products are written for. That shows up in how I design: start from the constraint, then make the thing feel effortless.
How I work
I start with the constraint rather than the feature list. Most of the products I admire were built by someone who understood the daily reality of the person using them — the intermittent connection, the shared phone, the customer who pays in cash and expects a receipt in the same conversation.
That is also how I read a business. A product is only as good as the work it removes, which is why I keep moving between engineering, design, and writing: each one keeps the other two honest.
What I do now
Tribe is my main focus. I am its founder and software developer, building an AI-powered platform that brings business tools, commerce, and payments into one connected experience, with Tia available on WhatsApp and the web. You can read more on the Tribe case study.
At Bonteh Magazine I work as CTO, software developer, and writer — across the publication's digital platform and its reporting on business, technology, and policy. The Bonteh case study covers that work, and my published writing is listed separately.
I also teach. The AI Automation Blueprint is a course about putting AI to practical use in design, video, websites, apps, and automation.
