Case study · Current role
Building the technology behind a business and policy publication.
The publication
Bonteh Magazine covers business, policy, politics, and technology with a focus on how they land in Africa and in Cameroon specifically. It describes itself as the publication you read before making important business and policy decisions, and that is the standard its editorial work is held to.
My role
I work across two sides of the publication. On the technology side I serve as CTO and software developer, contributing to the digital platform that carries the reporting. On the editorial side I write — essays and reported pieces on technology, business, and the systems shaping everyday life.
The two roles reinforce each other. Writing regularly about product and distribution keeps me close to what readers actually ask for, and that shapes how I think about the reading experience itself.
What I contributed
My work sits inside a wider team effort, and the platform is not a solo build. What I can say concretely is this: I contribute to the publication's digital platform, and I am one of the writers whose work appears on it. I would rather describe that honestly than claim credit for the whole publication.
